Help Mike Win Over His Love!
I’m starting an experiment for my friend, Mike Tay, whom I’ve known for fifteen years. I’m not hopeful that it’ll get any much of a response but I told him I’d give it a try. I’ve started a donation account for him to help him in his pursuit of happiness. So here’s his story:
Mike is Chinese-American and we studied together in our earlier years. He hasn’t had much luck in life. He dropped out of college, went on the dole and later got a few odd jobs. He is average-looking and not particularly articulate, so it’s no wonder that he hasn’t had a lot of luck in his love life. But recently, he got to know this Japanese-American woman who is sixteen years older than him (he’s thirty). I’ve only met her once but she does resemble Jessica Michibata (girlfriend of Jenson Button, the Brawn team’s F1 driver). He’s really taken to her and it’s the first time I’ve seen him so into a lady. But his family holds really traditional Asian values, which frown upon matches of such age differences. Another sticking point is that she is a widow and also Japanese. And I’m sure everyone knows the history between japan and China.
I believe in democracy and the right to love, which spans beyond age or descent. Mike’s family will not support him, whether financially or otherwise. Mike is barely making ends meet. So how can he afford to chase after a lady? That’s why I’m starting this donation drive to help him. But I know there are those out there who will laugh at him or say that he deserves his plight. Or those that don’t support such a love match. So I’m leaving it to those who believe in the freedom to love who you want.
So folks, I leave it up to you. If you aren’t convinced or if you don’t share his beliefs, then ignore his plight or throw a few coins at him. It’s totally up to you. There is no minimum or maximum amount to donate. Neither is it even compulsory to donate. You can just leave comments if you want.I don’t expect a great response but I’d like to do my part, however insignificant it may be.
